USDT TRC20 vs USDC Solana for GoldConnect Payments

September 18, 2026

GoldConnect Africa can present selected stablecoin networks through its NOWPayments integration. Two practical options are USDT on TRON and USDC on Solana. Both are designed to track the US dollar, but they run on different blockchain networks and should never be treated as interchangeable addresses.

USDT on TRON

USDT is one of the most widely used stablecoins globally. On the TRON network it is commonly identified as USDT TRC20. It is widely supported by wallets and exchanges, making it familiar to many users involved in cross-border digital payments.

Before sending, the payer must confirm that the destination specifically supports USDT on TRON. Sending through the wrong network can result in loss of funds or a difficult recovery process.

USDC on Solana

USDC is another major dollar-linked stablecoin. On Solana it benefits from the Solana network’s high throughput and generally low transaction costs. Users should ensure their wallet or exchange supports USDC on Solana and that the receiving address and network match the payment instruction exactly.

Which one should a GoldConnect user choose?

The practical choice depends on the currencies enabled in the NOWPayments checkout, the user’s wallet or exchange, network availability, fees, liquidity and the user’s own compliance requirements. GoldConnect does not require users to choose one network universally.

  • Choose the network your wallet and exchange clearly support.
  • Follow the exact currency and network shown on the payment screen.
  • Never copy an address from a previous transaction.
  • Check the amount, network and destination before confirming.
  • For larger transactions, consider a controlled verification process before funding.

For memberships

GoldConnect paid memberships can be funded using supported stablecoin options through NOWPayments. Once the required payment confirmation is received and verified by GoldConnect, the relevant membership can be activated or extended.

For escrow transactions

The selected network becomes part of the transaction record. Where NOWPayments Custodial Processing is used, the escrow workflow can track the transaction from funding through release request, dispute, refund or final payout.

Network choice is only one part of transaction safety

A correct blockchain payment does not prove that a mineral lot, supplier or commercial claim is genuine. Use GoldConnect verification tools, Mineral Passports, Deal Rooms and independent due diligence before moving high-value funds.

Stablecoins can experience issuer, liquidity, network and operational risks. Availability and supported networks can change. Always rely on the payment instructions presented for the current transaction.
