Cross-border mineral trade often involves participants operating in different banking systems, currencies and settlement environments. GoldConnect Africa has added stablecoin payment options to give marketplace members another practical way to pay for platform services and support structured transaction workflows.
Why stablecoins matter for an Africa-wide marketplace
A buyer in one country and a seller in another may face different banking hours, transfer processes, currency conversion costs and settlement times. Stablecoins are designed to track the value of a reference currency such as the US dollar, which can make them useful as a digital settlement rail when both parties understand the network and local regulatory requirements.
GoldConnect currently supports selected stablecoin payment options through NOWPayments, including USDT on TRON and USDC on Solana where those currencies are enabled. The objective is not to replace banking infrastructure. It is to provide an additional payment route for users who already operate with digital assets.
Membership payments are now simpler
GoldConnect paid membership plans can be funded through the stablecoin checkout. Bronze, Silver and Gold members can sign in, choose their plan and continue to the hosted NOWPayments payment flow. GoldConnect waits for a verified payment callback before updating membership status rather than relying only on the user returning to a success page.

Stablecoins also support the transaction workflow
GoldConnect has also introduced a structured stablecoin escrow workflow for agreed transactions. The workflow records buyer funding, funded status, release requests, disputes and final payout or refund references. Where NOWPayments Custodial Processing is enabled, transaction funds can remain in provider custody while the workflow progresses.
This creates a clearer operational record around payment status, but it does not remove the need for commercial, legal and technical due diligence.
Payments are only one layer of trust
Serious mineral transactions require much more than a payment mechanism. GoldConnect is building a wider transaction stack around Digital Mineral Passports, company and participant verification, title and concession checks, assay evidence, chain-of-custody records, private Deal Rooms and transaction audit trails.
A stablecoin transaction can move quickly, which makes verification before payment even more important. Buyers should verify the seller, mineral source, assay evidence, title or licence information, logistics arrangements and relevant regulatory requirements before releasing funds.
A practical option for global marketplace users
GoldConnect Africa serves an international audience of mineral suppliers, buyers, equipment companies and service providers. Stablecoin payments help make the platform more accessible to users who already transact digitally while keeping the payment flow connected to the marketplace account and transaction record.

GoldConnect transaction workflows do not replace independent legal, regulatory, financial, technical or counterparty due diligence. Users should confirm that digital-asset transactions are permitted and appropriate in their jurisdictions.
